Obituary for Mildred (Wadas) Kelly

Mildred C (Wadas) Kelly, 87, of West Springfield, MA passed away peacefully at home on June 4th, 2023 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Ludlow, MA to Charles and Laura (Baldiga) Wadas and was a 1954 graduate of Ludlow High School. She was also a devoted communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in West Springfield, but her greatest legacy was her devotion to her family. She worked at the Springfield newspaper for years where she met her husband of 54 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Joseph Kelly who predeceased her in 2010; a loving mother to Dawn Marie McDonald and husband David, of North Port, FL; and Robert Charles Kelly and wife Kelley, of Clinton, CT; a dear sister to her devoted brother David Wadas and his wife Sue of Somers, CT; a cherished grandmother to Kelsie Kinsley and husband Patrick of Nashville, TN, Candice Wherry and husband Josh of North Hampton, MA, Kristin McDonald of Mandeville, LA, David McDonald of West Springfield, MA, Alexandra Kelly, and Julia Kelly of Clinton, CT ; and great-grandmother to Piper Wherry, Ophelia Kinsley, Juniper Wherry, and Leona Kinsley; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. She will be dearly missed. Mildred loved fashion and décor. Her celebration of life will be held by her family. In leu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
