Obituary for Mykola "Nick" Hajowyj
Mykola “Nick” Hajowyj, 79, of Ludlow passed away peacefully Friday November 30th 2007, surrounded by his family. Born in Tarnopol, Ukraine, he has lived in Ludlow since 1951 and was a faithful communicant of St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church. Nick served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and worked for over 35 years at Smith and Wesson in Springfield before his retirement in 1989. He leaves his beloved wife of 43 years Jane (Jasminicki) of Ludlow; loving children Natalie Hajowyj and Mark Hajowyj both of Ludlow; caring brother Bohdan Hajowyj and his wife Maria in Ukraine as well as several friends in the community. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30AM from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Chicopee. Visiting hours are Monday evening from 5-8PM, with Panakhyda services beginning at 7:30PM.
