Obituary for Octavio Da Costa Rodrigues
Octavio Da Costa Rodrigues, 58, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Sampaio, Vila Pouca de Aguiar, Portugal, son of Manuel and Zulmira Rodrigues, he was a proud veteran of the Portugese Army. He came to Ludlow in 1975 and was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima and Christ the King Churches.  Octavio worked for many years in construction before retiring and also loved horses and horseracing, which was his family’s heritage in Portugal. In addition to his loving parents in Portugal, Octavio leaves his beloved wife of 37 years Fernanda (Jorge) Rodrigues; his loving children Nuno Rodrigues, of Ludlow, and Mario and Evette Rodrigues, both of Wilbraham; his dear brothers, Americo, in Portugal, Agostinho, in Ludlow, and Jose Manuel, in Switzerland; and cherished grandchildren Stephanie, of Wilbraham, and Tavio and Sierra, of Ludlow. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, other loving family members and dear friends and was predeceased by his sister Elena Rodrigues. There are no calling hours and all funeral services will be held in Portugal.
