Obituary for Olga (Barche) Solecki
Olga (Barche) Solecki, 83, of West Springfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 15, 2007, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Ukraine, she had lived in Belgium and Canada before moving to the U.S. in 1962. Olga was a very devoted and active member of St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ludlow, and enjoyed cooking and baking for its’ functions; but her greatest joy in life was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. Olga was the beloved wife of 63 years to William Solecki; a loving mother to William Jr. (Stella), of East Hartford, Joanna Kostopolus (William), of West Springfield, Sonia Cavanagh (Jack), of Cleveland, OH, John (Teddi), of Feeding Hills, Anna Palmer (David), of Chicopee, and Michael (Kathleen), of Wilton, CT; a cherished grandmother to Richard, April, Matthew, Nicholas, Michael, Jonathan, Leanne, Ryan, Sean, Thomas, Serena, Johnny, Laurie and Sharon; and great-grandmother to Danielle, Anneliese and Jordan. Funeral services are on Monday morning at 10:15am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Funeral Mass at 11:00am in St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 4-7pm with Panakhyda at 6:30pm. Memorial donations may be made in Olga’s memory to her church in care of Ludlow Funeral Home 432 East St. Ludlow, Ma. 01056.Â
