Obituary for Orlando Gomes
Orlando M. Gomes, 69, of Ludlow passed away on Wednesday April 8, 2020. Born in Portugal, he was a paratrooper with the Portguese Army. He has lived in Ludlow for many years and worked at Chicopee Undergarment and Hampden Paper Company. He enjoyed working in his garden, watching soccer matches and going to the Gremio Lusitano Club, he also enjoyed traveling to Portugal and Switzerland to visit family. He leaves his beloved wife of 36 years, Jeannette (Sarrasin) Gomes of Ludlow; loving sisters Matilda Rosa Gonsalves, Arminda Silva Espinho and husband Jaime both of Portugal and his brother Jose Gomes and wife Louisa of Switzerland; caring godchildren Liliana Gonsalves and Lino Espinho as well as nieces and nephews in Portugal and the U.S. Funeral services for Orlando were held privately by his family and arrangements were entrusted to Ludlow Funeral Home.
