Obituary for Palmira Garcia
Palmira Garcia, 83, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Friday, March 26th, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Gralhos, Montalegre, Portugal to the late Joao Garcia and Maria Lima she was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. She was the wife of the late Antonio Fernandes, who predeceased her on September 17th, 1977. Palmira leaves her loving children: Ilidio Fernandes and Arthur Fernandes of France, Fatima Barroso of Ludlow, Fernando Fernandes of Brazil, Joao Fernandes and Cesar Fernandes of Switzerland, Manuel Fernandes of Portugal, Maria DeJesus of Ludlow and Palmira Silva of Acushnet; her 20 cherished grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; her caring sister Rosa Lima in Portugal. Palmira was also predeceased by her son Antonio Fernandes in 1995. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 30th, 2010 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church. Burial will take place in Portugal at the Cemeterio de Gralhos in Montalegre. Visiting hours for Palmira are Monday evening from 6:00pm-9:00pm.
