Obituary for Paul J. Roda
Paul J. Roda, 79, of Chicopee, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Natale and Corinne (Brisson) Roda, he was a lifelong resident of Chicopee where he was a faithful and active communicant of St. Rose de Lima Church. Paul was a hard working man who worked for many years at Interstate and CF Teamsters Local 671 before retiring. Paul was an avid bowler, receiving the honor of bowling the first 300 in Western Mass and also loved playing horseshoes, coaching the youth bowling league; and especially spending time with his family. Paul was the beloved husband of 58 years to Marion (Bushey) Roda; a loving father to Edward E. Urban and wife Ann, of East Longmeadow, Deborah Josefiak and husband Alan, of Chicopee, Joseph Roda and wife Julie, of Springfield, and Frank Roda, of Ludlow; a cherished grandfather to Edward W., Anthony, Jaime and husband Kris, Jennie, Alan, Nicholas, Matthew, Landon, and the late Jeffrey Urban; an adoring great-grandfather to Alexis, Haylee, Jackson, and Logan; a dear brother to Mary Roy, Thomas Roda, and 6 late siblings; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Paul’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to the MGH Cooley Dickinson Cancer Center and Willimansett West Nursing Home for their exceptional care and support. Visiting hours for Paul will be held on Tuesday, June 11th from 4:00-7:00 in Ludlow Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held privately by his family and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s memory to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org)
