Paul Trigilio, 89, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born in Springfield to the late Joseph and Lucia (Elia) Trigilio. He lived most of his life in Ludlow where he had a 33 year career as a History & Geography teacher at Baird Jr. High/Middle School retiring in 2000, and upon retirement, he became a snowbird spending his winters in Ft. Myers, FL. Paul was an accomplished musician having played the saxophone for 75 years. In addition, he enjoyed birdwatching and was a longtime Shriner and member of the Ludlow Lodge of Elks.
Paul was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Diminutto) Trigilio, who predeceased him in 2014; a devoted father to John-Paul Trigilio and wife Kim of Chicopee, Debra Caplette and husband Mark of Ludlow, and the late Christopher-Paul Trigilio and widow Penelope; a cherished grandfather to Emily, Anthony, Nick, Sydney, Bobby and Emma; and also leaves his loving companion of 11 years Alice Pasterczyk, many loving extended family, and dear friends. Funeral services for Paul will be held on Friday, February 6th. Visitation is from 9:15-10:15am at Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Elizabeth Church in Ludlow followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s memory to the ALS Foundation or Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
