Obituary for Pauline E. Mei
Pauline E. (Lavoie) Mei, 79, of Wilbraham, died peacefully Friday morning August 22, 2008. A lifelong resident of Ludlow she had just recently moved to Wilbraham. Pauline was an adult Librarian at the Hubbard Memorial Library in the early 1950’s and returned to library work as a library aide in the Ludlow school system. She retired in 1997 and became a volunteer reader at Chapin St. School. She was a communicant of St. Cecelia’s Church in Wilbraham. Pauline leaves her husband of 55 years, Paul J. Mei Sr., a daughter Dolores Mei, and Karen Doherty of Greenport, NY, three sons; Paul J. Jr., and his wife Judy Bordenuk, of Wilbraham, Richard J. , and his wife Michelle of Granby, John P. and his wife Saysha of San Diego Ca., and a daughter Lin, and her husband A.J. Busenbark of Jacksonville N.C., eight grandchildren; Robert A. Irwin, Jennifer Mei, Michael and Anthony Choquette, Stephanie and Olivia Mei, Dezirae and Jake Mei, and a great grandchild, Devon Trumbull. She also leaves four sisters; Antoinette Burgess and her husband Edward, Sister Therese Lavoie, SSA, Lucille Regnier all of Ludlow, and Sister Dolores Lavoie SSA of Marlboro Ma, 2 brothers; Louis and his wife Lorraine of Melbourne Fl, and Bernard and his wife Kathleen of Ludlow. A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday morning at 10 AM at St. Cecelia’s Church, with committal services at the Ma. Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 3 PM.Visiting hours at the Ludlow Funeral Home will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM. The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Pauline’s memory may be made to the Open Pantry, Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen, 287 State St. Spfld, Ma. 01105.
