Obituary for Paulo M. Dias
Paulo M. Dias, 51, died peacefully at Baystate Medical Center, on April 15th from complications from a cardiac arrest. He leaves behind his wife Ana Paula Dias, his children Michael Dias and Karina Dias, his parents Jose Julio de Jesus Dias and Adelaide Machado Dias of Portugal, brother João Dias of Ludlow, sisters Marlene Fanha and Gena Dias of Switzerland, brothers-in-law Tony Tavares of Ludlow and Armando Fanha of Switzerland, sister-in-law Fatima Tavares of Ludlow, nephews Tiago Dias, Fabio Tavares and Nicholas Tavares of Ludlow, Evanne Fanha and Yann Fanha of Switzerland, as well as numerous cousins. He was born in Freixeda, Portugal. Paulo immigrated to the United States from Portugal in 1989. Paulo was a hardworking man who always had to be doing something. He worked at Chmura’s Bakery for several years, then moved on to work for Ludlow Construction Inc, and finally owned and operated JR Butcher Shop alongside his wife. Paulo loved to spend time with his friends and family when he wasn’t working. He was always quick with a joke to lighten any mood. He cherished the times he spent alongside his family and friends and made them memorable for everyone. He had various hobbies which included rooting for his favorite soccer team, SL Benfica along with Portugal’s National Team, he enjoyed hunting with his friends, and riding his motorcycle. He was such a friendly man and people person, everyone who knew him has something great to say about him. He made friends everywhere he went and left such an impact on their lives. Such a tragedy will leave countless people heartbroken. A Celebration of Paulo’s life will be held at a later date and time to be announced.
