Obituary for Penha (da Silva) Quiterio
Penha (da Silva) Quiterio, 67, of Ludlow, was called Home to be with God on Thursday, March 12th 2009. Born in Santa Fe, Brazil to the late Rodrigo and Helena da Silva she was a longtime Ludlow resident and faithful communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Penha worked for many years as a nurse at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.  She leaves her loving sons; Richard Quiterio and his wife Sylvia of Granby, MA. and Carlos Quiterio and his wife Deanna of Centreville, VA; adored grandchildren Sean Quiterio, Benjamin Quiterio and Nora Quiterio, all of Virginia; as well as her sisters in Brazil Ida and Elza. Funeral services for Penha will be held Friday March 20th, 2009. Family and friends are asked to gather for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Thursday evening from 4:00-7:00pm at Ludlow Funeral Home.
