Peter’s family will hold a graveside memorial service with Military Honors on Friday, January 23, 2015 in St. Michael's Cemetery (section Holy Family) in Springfield at 1:00pm.

Peter J. Devine, 67, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2015. Born in Springfield, son of the late William and Helen (Swords) Devine, Peter proudly served his country for 6 years in the United States Army and worked for many years as a substance abuse treatment facilitator. An avid musician, Peter was affectionately known as “The Leader of the Band” and played guitar with many bands throughout the years, but especially with his longtime friend John Sullivan. He also enjoyed teaching guitar, writing music, and playing as a musical entertainer for clubs, weddings, boat cruises and private functions. He was also a member of the Parrothead Association, enjoyed taking trips to Cape Cod with his family and friends, and liked to go fishing whenever the opportunity presented itself. Peter was the loving father of Peter Devine, Tracey Devine, Ophelia West, and Scott Devine; the cherished grandfather of Maryssa, Mckenzie, Wayne, Stephanie, and Jeremy; a dear brother to Rose Marie Crowley, and the late William Devine Jr, Walter Devine, James Devine, Robert Devine, Eugene Devine, Jack Devine, and Donald Devine; and also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and fellow musicians.
