Obituary for Ramiro Ribeiro
Ramiro Ribeiro, 92, of Ludlow, died peacefully on December 17, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Â Born in Carvalhal, Alcobaca, Portugal, he proudly served in the Portuguese Army in Cape Verde during WWII and came to Ludlow in 1962, where he was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Â Ramiro worked at Smith and Wesson for many years before retiring in 1983. Â He enjoyed gardening, hunting, making wine, and spending time with his many friends, family and especially his grandchildren. Â Ramiro was the beloved husband of Jesuina (Moreira) Ribeiro, a loving father to Joseph Ribeiro and wife Christine, Maria Coelho and husband Andre, and Natalia Schloesser and husband Norbert, all of Ludlow; a cherished grandfather to Christopher, Kimberly, Nikolaus, and Kara; a dear brother to the late Antonio, Armando, Joao, Joaquim, Francisco, Silvestre, Maria, and Gracinda; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Â The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Birch Manor for the extraordinary care that they provided to Ramiro, he loved you all. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 4:00- 7:00pm
