Obituary for Raymond Haluch
Raymond Haluch passed away peacefully on October 25th, 2021 at his home in Chelsea, Vermont. His beloved partner, Penny O’Sullivan, was by his side. Ray was born in Ludlow, Massachusetts, on April 8, 1936. He grew up on the Haluch Dairy Farm in Ludlow. On this farm he instilled a love for agriculture and the outdoors that remained for all his life. After high school he began working construction. He worked for many local companies in his earlier years. This experience in the construction industry led to the founding of his own company, Haluch Sand and Gravel, in 1979.
Ray was predeceased by his parents, Sophie (Malkinski) and Theodore Haluch. In addition to his partner, Penny, he leaves behind his loving daughter, Joanne Martins and her husband, John, their children, Angela Knox and husband, Sean, Melissa Bettencourt and husband, Matthew, and Kevin Martins and partner, Melanie Costa. Along with his great grandchildren, Gabriella, Hazel, Sophia, and Wyatt. Also, his former wife and mother of his daughter, Elizabeth (Chrusciel) Haluch. Ray will also be missed by his extended family, Ryan O’Sullivan and wife, Jacqueline, Corey O’Sullivan, and five grandchildren, Lyla, Brenna, Madeleine, Hallie, and best bud, Hudson. He is further survived by many more family members and friends.
Ray especially loved spending time with his family and working on his properties in North Tunbridge and Chelsea, Vermont. He will be sadly missed.
Calling hours will be Saturday, October 30 from 8:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the Ludlow Funeral Home located at 432 East St. Ludlow, Massachusetts. Family and friends may join a church service at Christ the King Church which begins at 11:00 a.m. followed by a burial at Island Pond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Massachusetts 4-H Foundation.
