Obituary for Richard "Dick" Miller
Richard “Dick” Miller, 78, of Ludlow was called home to be with God on Wednesday, December 13, 2006. Born in Springfield, he was a lifelong Ludlow resident, a faithful communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and served his country honorably as a soldier in United States Army during the Korean conflict. He worked for many years with his uncle E.K. Miller at Miller’s Dairy in Ludlow before retiring from the Friendly Corporation in 2000. Dick was a member of the Unity Athletic Club, a volunteer at the Hubbard Memorial Library, an avid bowler and a proud New York Yankees fan. He leaves his loving sister; Marjorie Miller Fogg of Marblehead, MA; caring niece Jennifer Disinger and her husband Randall of Medfield, MA; cherished nephew FredW. Fogg and his wife Hannah of Ridgewood, NJ.; and his adored grandnieces, Amelia, Kate and Avery. Funeral services with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 8:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Monday evening from 4-7pm.
