Obituary for Richard Gurski
Richard Gurski, 80, of Wilbraham passed away peacefully on Monday August 29, 2016 and was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Nawoj) Gurski. He was a member of the Polish American Veterans Club of Wilbraham and was a proud military veteran serving in the United States Army as an instructor in the Signal Corp stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia. He was a faithful communicant of Immaculate Conception Church and the Financial Committee and ICC Seniors, He was a member of the Ludlow Country Club for 62 years and on the Board of Directors and was involved in various Committee’s including the superintendent, golf pro and 75th anniversary committee, Bi-law and rules committee, Marshall LPGS Us Open at the Orchards CC and honoree 2012 at LCC, along with his wife and inducted to the LCC Hall of Fame, his life was golf. Dick was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics during the Red Auerbach era. He was a member of G.C.S.A.N.E. and N.E.G.C.S.A Superintendents Association of N.E. and America and Dick worked as a representative of Essex Silver Line and the Charles Hart Seed Company. He leaves his wife of 57 years Rose (Saletnik) Gurski of Wilbraham and brother Daniel Gurski of Ludlow; sisters in law and brothers in law Phyllis and Frank Wojtowicz of Ludlow, Cindy and Kenny Konopka of Ludlow, Marion and Dennis Bulat Sr. of Springfield and Godfather to nephew Dennis Bulat and wife Emily of Sudbury and great uncle to 2 beautiful girls Logan and Cameron Bulat. Dick's family would like to thank Dennis Lopata and his staff for the exceptional care that was given to him at Lifecare Center in Wilbraham. Funeral services will be held on Friday September 2, 2016 at 10:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00am in Immaculate Conception Church followed by burial with Military Honors in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday evening from 4:00-7:00pm and in lieu of flowers please make donations to the charity of one's choice.
