Obituary for Richard “Rick” Kominsky
Richard A. Kominsky, 65, of Westfield, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Borlick “Oscar '' and Beverly (Stronberg) Kominsky, Rick grew up in Ludlow and during his youth, he was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and worked for WHYN and WAQI. He was 1974 graduate of Ludlow High School and went on to further his education graduating from WNEC. He was a lifelong HAM radio operator and worked for many years as Senior Staff Engineer at ITT Power Solutions and most recently at ECI. In his free time, Rick loved working on his family farm with his wife raising llamas and working with the animals at the Big E. He also enjoyed brewing his own beer and frequenting breweries, riding his recently purchased motorcycle, and was member of the Agawam Revolver Club where he served on their board of directors. Rick was the devoted husband of 33 years Lois (Gilman) Kominsky; a loving father to Allen R. Kominsky; a dear brother to Cheryl A. Cormier and husband James; brother-in-law to Marsha Messier and husband Ron and Ruth Gilman; uncle to many nieces and nephews including Amy Zeo-Pereira, husband John lll, and their children Jamie and John IV; as well as several loving extended family members and dear friends. Visiting hours for Rick are on Wednesday, July 20th from 6:00-8:00pm in Ludlow Funeral Home. Funeral services are on Thursday, July 21st beginning at 9:15am with a Celebration of Life Chapel Service at 10:00am in the funeral home followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made in Rick’s memory to any animal rescue organization of one’s choice.
