Obituary for Rita G. (Guay) Haluch
Rita G. (Guay) Haluch, 91, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2008. Born in Indian Orchard, daughter of the late Urgel and Leona Guay, she moved to Ludlow when she was married at age 17 where she was a faithful communicant of Christ the King Church, and more recently lived for over 30 years in Belchertown. She worked for many years at Ludlow Mills and later for Smith and Wesson before her retirement. Rita was the beloved wife of the late Walter F. Haluch Sr., who predeceased her in 1987; a loving mother to John Haluch and his wife Joan, of Ludlow, and the late Walter F. Haluch Jr. and Marion Bourcier; a cherished grandmother to Jeff, Robert, Linda, John, Deborah, Diane, Donna, Denise, Michael, Jennifer, Susan, Matthew and Jonathan; and also leaves several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; her daughter in law Elizabeth Haluch; son-in-law Lawrence Bourcier and many other loving family members and dear friends. Rita’s family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staffs of Wing Memorial Hospital Special Care Unit and Lifecare Center of Wilbraham. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:45am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30am in Christ the King Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visitation will precede the funeral on Sat. from 9:30-10:45am and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rita’s memory to the Jimmy Fund: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor Brookline, MA 02445-7226 ATTN: Contribution Services.
