Obituary for Rita M. Guerci
Rita M. Guerci, 96, a lifelong resident of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2007, at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. She was the daughter of the late Carlo and Domenica (Bianchi) Guerci. She attended Ludlow Schools and was employed by Westinghouse for 27 years until its closing. She was then employed by Smith and Wesson until her retirement.  She loved her church, St. Mary of the Assumption, and was a member of its’ Ladies Guild. She was predeceased by her sister; Livia Sorcinelli and her brothers; Livio, Geno and Joseph Guerci. She leaves several nieces and her sister-in-law. Many thanks to the Ludlow nurses for their many years of extraordinary care. Their devotion to Rita enabled her to spend her last years in the home that she loved.  Family and friends are asked to gather for a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church. There are no visiting hours and burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery will be held privately by the family. Ludlow Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rita’s memory to St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 12 Cedar St. Ludlow, Ma. 01056 or Ludlow Fire Dept.
