Obituary for Rita R. (Duquette) Lussier
Rita R. (Duquette) Lussier, of Ludlow, passed away in peace on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer. On the wings of Angels, she was led Home to be with her loving husband who predeceased her in 1991, Armand Lussier, Sr., they are now together again. Re-joined in eternal life with all of their family and loved ones who have also passed on to eternal life. Rita was with her family all by her side to say goodbye for now, and to tell her how much they love her. Born in Springfield, she lived most of her life in Ludlow and was a former communicant of St. Matthew’s Church. She worked for many years at Rexcel and for over 10 years at Smith and Wesson before her retirement, but her greatest devotion in life was to being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family, whom she adored. Rita was the beloved mother of Nancy Baldwin and husband Bob, of Sarasota, FL, Rita Sevivas-Folta and husband Frank, of Westfield, Richard Lussier and wife Sandy, of Ludlow and Armand Lussier, Jr., also of Ludlow; a cherished grandmother to Sandy Boudreau, Tammy Flynn and husband Michael, Steve Sevivas, Gary Sevivas and wife Alice, Stacey Wikar and husband Mike, Greg Ralph and wife Jennifer, Maxie Ralph and wife Donna and Rebecca Ralph; a dearly loved great-grandmother to Jessica Sevivas, Paige Sevivas, Alana and Julia Ralph, Richard Lussier, Ashley Bourdeau, Katie and Paul Flynn, Nicholas Sevivas, Christian Sevivas, Sedona and Nolan Wikar, and Candie Downer; a dear sister to John “Duke” Duquette; a loving mother-in-law to the late Gus Sevivas; and also leaves many extended family members and dear friends. Rita's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff in the ICU unit of Wing Memorial for their kindness, compassion, and for helping Rita and her family to be together for their saying goodbye for now. Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 8am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9am in St. Elizabeth's Catholic Community followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Wednesday from 5-8pm
