Obituary for Robert A. Grassetti
Robert A. Grassetti, 73, of Wilbraham, passed away peacefully on Monday February 1st, 2010 surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Scranton, PA. to the late Anthony and Jennie (Gherardi) Grassetti, he was a long time Wilbraham resident, a faithful communicant of St. Cecelia’s Parish and active in the former UNICO of Wilbraham and enjoyed going to the Valley Athletic Club at the YMCA of Springfield.  Robert was a graduate of Commerce High School in Springfield and received a degree in Engineering from Western New England College in 1964.  He was the proud owner of Roberts Manufacturing in Springfield since 1984 and enjoyed being there with his faithful employees Don, Trevor and Sergio.   Robert's passion was golf and he was a former member of the Wilbraham Country Club and a current member at Ludlow Country Club.  He leaves his beloved wife of 51 years, Esabel (Palheiredo) Grassetti of Wilbraham; loving children Robert J. Grassetti and his wife Cheryle of Nashua, NH., and Cheryl Buckley and her fiancé Dean Maillet of Natick, MA; cherished grandchildren Robert D. Grassetti, Anthony J. Grassetti, Kyle J. Buckley and Ryan Robert Buckley; caring brother and friend, Ronald Grassetti and his wife Eleanor of Wilbraham as well a  sister-in-law Joan Grassetti of South Carolina; nephew David Grassetti, nieces Laura Grassetti, Allison Grassetti Hoffman, Christine Young and great-nieces Nora Young and Deanna Hoffman; a dear friend Greg Barnagian of Wilbraham; his faithful companion Toby.  Sadly Robert was predeceased by his brother Aldo Grassetti in 2009.  Funeral services and burial will be held privately by Roberts family, with Ludlow Funeral Home being entrusted with the arrangements.  For those wishing to make a donation in his memory may do so to: The Alzheimers Association 64 Cottage St. Springfield, MA. 01104 or to Autism Research.
