Obituary for Robert "Bob" Chevalier Sr.
Robert “Bob” Chevalier Sr., 68, of Ludlow was called home to be with God on Wednesday May 17, 2006.  Born in Springfield he lived most of his life in Ludlow, where he was a faithful communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, a member of the Ludlow Fair Housing Commission and a 26 year member of the Ludlow Planning Board, earning the distinguished honor of the longest serving elected official in town.  Bob worked for 45 years as a land surveyor for Northeast Utilities before his retirement in 2000; he was the past president of the Connecticut Valley Chapter of MALCE earning the honor of lifetime member and a registered land surveyor in Massachusetts and Connecticut for over 35 years.  He served his country honorably as a United States Marine Veteran and was a Deputy Sheriff for the Hampden County Sheriffs Department.  He leaves his beloved wife of 43 years Maureen (O’Connor) Chevalier of Ludlow; loving children, Mark Chevalier and his wife Janine, Pamela Flowers and her husband Steven, Eileen Besner and her Fiancé James LaFromboise all of Ludlow and Robert Chevalier Jr. and his wife Pamela of California; cherished grandchildren Jason Besner, Joshua Flowers, Haley Chevalier, Meghan Flowers, Emma Chevalier and Parker Chevalier; dear brothers Arthur Chevalier and his wife Jackie and Ronald Chevalier and his wife Joan both of Southwick; sister –in-law Eileen Cosgrove of Holyoke and several loving nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 23, 2006 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.  Visiting hours are Monday evening from 4-8pm.
