Obituary for Robert C. Livingstone
Robert C. Livingstone, 80, of Ludlow, passed away on September 28, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Born in Marlborough, MA, son of the late Alton and Margaret (Carroll) Livingstone, he proudly served his country in the United States Naval Reserve Service. Bob attended WNEC and was a 1959 graduate of Cambridge School of Radio-TV Broadcasting. A longtime Ludlow resident, he was a communicant at the (former) St. Mary of the Assumption and St. Elizabeth Parishes; he also served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary's. Bob was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Canon Manufacturing and was co-owner of Aquarius Pools and Spas in Wilbraham with his good friend Dan Motta. He was a member for over 30 years and served as past president of the National Swimming Pool Institute. Upon retirement, he enjoyed working as a bartender at the Ludlow Lodge of Elks where he was also a charter member. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed being a Boy Scout troop leader, trips to Foxwoods and his favorite place Ogunquit, Maine with his wife Linda (Fernandes) Livingstone. He was an avid fan of all New England Sports teams and he never met a project that he was not afraid to tackle; but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Bob was the beloved husband of 30 years to Linda; a loving father to Robert, Jr., of Ludlow, Scott (Deanna Donnelly), of Oceanside, CA, Julia (David Willcutts), of Pasadena, CA, Stephen Santos (April), of Ludlow, and Thomas Santos, also of Ludlow; a devoted grandfather to Joshua Livingstone, Michael Livingstone, John Paul Livingstone, Kelsie Santos, Miranda Santos, Matthew Santos, Jacob Santos, Austin Santos, and Iona Willcutts; a cherished great-grandfather to Alexis and Benjamin Livingstone, Kierra Roche, and Isabella Ritz; a dear brother to Donald Livingstone (Helga) of Viscala, CA, Joan Sands, of Maysville, GA, and the late Alton Livingstone and Bernice Carrie. Bob also leaves several loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Visiting hours for Bob are on Friday September 30 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Ludlow Funeral Home. Funeral services are on Saturday, October 1st at 9:00 a.m. from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Parish. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org) or the charity of one’s choice.
