Obituary for Robert R. Robar
Robert R. Robar, 95, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield, he was the son of the late Arnold and Helen (Lindner) Robar. Bob was a graduate of Technical High School and proudly served in the Army Air Force during World War II. After his service, he attended American International College graduating in 1952. Bob was a manager for 30 years with Friendly Ice Cream in Connecticut and Massachusetts. He leaves his loving wife Eileen L. (Kelley) Robar; sons Robert, Jr. (Lois), of Tennessee, Marshall, of Wilbraham, and Raymond, of Ludlow; daughter Ruth Rose (Alan), of Kentucky; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends. The family would like to thank his personal care assistant Sandee, his physical therapist Kate, and the team from Baystate Hospice. Bob’s family will hold a memorial service on Thursday, November 3rd at 3:00pm in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
