Obituary for Robert W. "Bob" Carr
Robert "Bob" William Carr, 84, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2021. Born in Springfield, he was the son of the late William Carr and Irene (Lemoine) Carr and brother of the late Edward Carr, who passed at a young age. At age 17, Bob enlisted in the United States military, proudly serving in the Army, and was stationed in Germany before his Honorable discharge in 1956. He went on to a career as a correctional officer in Somers for the State of CT, from where he retired in 1985. In his free time, he loved fishing, watching Bruins and Patriots, and his 20 plus years of spending his winters in FL. He especially enjoyed watching his grandkids play soccer, field hockey and dance, as well as spending time with his children, grandchildren, and friends. He will be remembered by his family for his sense of humor and family love of Moxie soda and Stateline Potato Chips. Bob was the beloved husband of 51 years to Patricia (Bobowiec) Carr; a loving father to Alan and wife, Amy of Springfield, MA, Jason and wife, Liz of Enfield, CT, and Debbie and partner Bill of Coventry, CT; a devoted grandfather to Charlotte and Lilah Carr, and Joshua Carr; and also leaves all of the loyal family pets, many loving extended family members, and dear friends. Walk Through No Contact Visiting hours for Bob will be held on Wednesday, February 10th from 4:00 - 6:00pm in Ludlow Funeral Home. Burial services with Military Honors will be held privately by his family in Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Wounded Warriors or Shriners Hospital for Children.
