Obituary for Robin (Gover) Sessoms
On Thursday, October 2, 2025, at age 62, Robin L. (Gover) Sessoms departed this Earth surrounded by a few of her loved ones. Originally from Ludlow, MA, Robin, expressing a strong desire for change, journeyed and moved from her hometown to North Carolina, where she lived most of her life. Never forgetting her connection to home and family, she visited Ludlow often and spread her warmth to all she crossed paths with. Seldom did a visit go without experiencing her clever sense of humor and the wonderful cackle of laughter that emanated from her kind heart. She lit up a room. There was always an explorative meal to be had, a raucous game to be played, a newfound plant to beautify many a garden or a reveled memory of the past brought back to life. She adored the chance for an outing to browse through crafts and clothes, garden nurseries and plant centers. Between her spontaneous ability to sing about anything and dance like no one was watching, it was clear she never lost touch with her inner child, even more deeply, her inner artist.
Robin was creative, lively and active. She biked and ran marathons and could be found engaged in any of her favorite pastimes. Among these interests and passions were gardening, cooking, decorating, watching a good sappy movie or reading. She was an especially nurturing and caring, avid animal lover and had many cats and dogs in her care.
In addition to her passions of life, she was a dedicated nurse serving multiple sectors of the field from cardiology to dialysis. Influenced by her upbringing, she always performed her tasks diligently, compassionately and with a grand sense of respect. She was a treasured coworker, an incredible sibling and a cherished soul. She will be greatly missed forever and a day and never forgotten. She leaves behind her husband Sam Sessoms of Fayetteville, NC, her beloved daughter Emily Richardson and wife Carissa of Cary, NC, her mother Miriam Gover of Ludlow, MA, her sister Diane (Gover) Burke and partner Steven Methot of Enosburg Falls, VT, her brother Murel Gover of Suffield, CT, sister-in-law Kimberly Gover of Ludlow, MA, niece Katelyn Gover and nephews Matthew and Nash Gover of Ludlow, MA, as well as aunts and many cousins.
Services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Ludlow Funeral Home, 432 East Street, Ludlow, MA. Visitation is from 11:00am-12:30pm, with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 12:30, private burial immediately following.
