Obituary for Roger F. Beauregard
Roger F. Beauregard, 54, a 24 year officer of the Ludlow Police Dept., was called back into God’s care on Wednesday, May 3, 2006. Born in Ludlow, he graduated from Ludlow High School in 1969 and was appointed a permanent intermittent officer from 1977 until his permanent position in 1981. He received numerous awards and certificates of accomplishment for his dedicated actions as a police officer in life threatening situations. He graduated 4th in his class from the police academy out of 52 students and also had worked as a male nurse for the Hampden County House of Corrections between 1980 and 1981. Roger proudly served his country with the US Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War and loved to spend time golfing and walking in the woods with his family. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Cardin) Beauregard; a son Bryan and a daughter Brittney, both at home; his extended children Astrid Dicke of Germany and Mattias Ersson of Sweden; a brother Richard of Fiskdale, Ma., and a sister Louise Gallaway of Somers Ct. Funeral services with military and police honors will be on Monday morning at 10am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, East St. Ludlow, with burial to follow in Bethany Cemetery, Monson. Visiting hours at the Ludlow Funeral Home, 432 East St., will be held on Sunday afternoon from 3-6pm.
