Obituary for Rosa (Dias) Goncalves
Rosa (Dias) Goncalves, 86, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Sunday August 22nd, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Travassos da Cha, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Joao and Ana (Pereira) Dias. Rosa was a Ludlow resident for many years and a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. She was predeceased by her beloved husband John Goncalves who recently passed away on November 11, 2009; she leaves her loving sons Manuel Goncalves and his wife Kathleen of Westport, MA., and George Goncalves and his wife Valerie of Ludlow; cherished grandchildren, Gina Brennan and her husband Michael, Christopher Goncalves and Ashlee Korny and her husband Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Lilee, John (Jack), Abigayle and Madelyn; caring sister Ana Cruz of Portugal and a brother Joaquim Dias also of Portugal; brother-in-law Lavalier Goncalves and his wife Ilda of Ludlow and Sister-in-law Arminda Dias of Ludlow as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Rosa was predeceased by her brothers Manuel Antonio Dias and Manuel Joaquim Dias and a sister Maria Dias; her brother-in-law Antonio Goncalves and a sister-in-law Idalina Goncalves.. Funeral services for Rosa will be held on Wednesday August 25th, 2010 at 8:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated in Our Lady of Fatima Church at 9:00am followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00pm-7:00pm and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rosa’s memory to: Wilsons’ Disease Association International, 1802 Brookside Drive, Wooster, OH, 44691
