Obituary for Roseanna (Lopes) Goodfield
Roseanna Lopes McMaster Goodfield, 74, of Palmer passed away peacefully on Saturday morning March 22, 2025 at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, Ma.
While she fought illness in a broken body, injuries too difficult to overcome, her soul knew it was time to go home.
She is predeceased in death by her parents Benjamin Lopes and Helen (Teel) Lopes. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Edward Goodfield, her three children, Jason, Gregory and Michelle. Stepchildren, Marci and Todd and nine grandchildren. She leaves her two sisters, Linda Bartos and her late husband
William, Donna Rinaldi and her husband Roger. Also, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister- in -law, Maryann Fuller.
She was a 1968 graduate of Ludlow High School. While there she earned the typing award for the most words typed per minute without any errors. She used her skills while working at Monarch Insurance Co. After that she worked for many lawyers as a paralegal. Later, she went to STCC where she earned her Boiler Operator License and Second- Class -Fireman License for the State of Massachusetts which enabled her to work in that capacity at Belchertown State School. Finally, she transcribed dictation from many doctors at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Throughout her years, she was an avid reader, usually with a cat siting on her lap. She enjoyed baking, cooking and sewing quilts. She loved her first car, a 1965 navy blue Ford Mustang which she still talked about in recent years.
Our family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Baystate Wing Hospital for their compassionate care while helping make her journey here on earth complete. Her faith in God gives us comfort as she now resides with Him and our dear departed family in Heaven. She will forever remain in our hearts until we meet again.
A private service will be held in her honor at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be sent to an animal shelter of your choosing in Roseanna's memory.
