Obituary for Rosemarie 'Romi' (Graef) Maurice
Rosemarie E. “Romi” (Graef) Maurice, 77, of Ludlow, died peacefully on September 23, 2012. Born in Germany, daughter of the late Aloys and Maria (Sauer) Graef, she was a longtime Ludlow resident where she was a faithful communicant of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Church and currently of St. Elizabeth Parish. She was employed for many years as a housekeeper at Mary Mother of Hope and the former St. Matthews Church, both in Springfield. Rosemarie was the loving mother to Basil Maurice and wife Carol Ann, of Springfield; a dear sister to Monsignor Franz, in Louisiana, Klaus, Hildegard, Mechtilt, and Monika, all of Germany, and the late Barbara; aunt to several loving nieces and nephews, also in Germany; and was predeceased by her former husband Philip Maurice in 1995. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at 9am in Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Elizabeth Parish and burial to be held privately by the family. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 4-7pm.
