Obituary for Rudolph Shynovek
Rudolph Shynovek, age 91, passed away peacefully on 12/9/18 at Quaboag on the Commons. Rudy is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of 67 years, a daughter, Jean and her husband Alan Haznar of Appleton, Wisconsin, two grandchildren, Neil Haznar of Denver, Colorado and Nicole (Haznar) Terrien and her husband, Andrew, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, a great grandson, Tyson and several nieces and nephews. Born in West Warren, Massachusetts of the late Frank and Mary (Nichols) Krzynowek, he was predeceased by three brothers, Bronac, Walter, Edward and two sisters, Natalie Cabana and Nora Poirier. Rudy was educated in the Warren school system and Springfield Trade.
A veteran of World War II, Rudy served in the U.S. Navy as a Coxswain in the South Pacific during the invasion of Okinawa. He received the World War II Victory Medal, American Area Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal and a Bronze Star. Before retiring in 1991, he was employed by Perkins Machine Co. in Warren, MA for 36 years and Brimfield Precision in Brimfield, MA for 4 years.
Visiting hours will be held at St. Stanislaus Church, Main Street, West Warren , MA on Saturday, December 15 from 9:00-10:30 AM followed by funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
