Ruth F. (Lemos) Pancotti, 96, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2026. Born in Ludlow, daughter of John and Constance (Lopes) Lemos, she was a lifelong resident and 1947 graduate of Ludlow High School. Ruth worked at various area restaurants and was co-owner of the former New England Sea Grill. Within the community, she was a communicant of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Parish and currently of St. Elizabeth Parish, and also enjoyed spending time at the Ludlow Senior Center, but her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family.
Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Vivaldo “Vi” Pancotti, who predeceased her in 2004; a loving mother to Lorri Ackerman and late husband Tom, of Ludlow, and the late James Pancotti and widow Rosie, of TX; a cherished grandmother to Lindsay Witherow (Nathan), Ryan Ackerman (Krista), Giovanni Pancotti, Stephanie Weber (James), and Lauren Weber; a cherished great-grandmother to Luke, Alison, and Kyle Witherow, and Micah, Jackson, Charlotte, and Cora Ackerman; a dear sister to the late James Lemos, and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held on Friday, February 20th at Ludlow Funeral Home. Visitation is from 10:30-11:30am concluding with a funeral home chapel service at 11:30am. burial will be held privately by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in Ruth's memory to Ludlow Senior Center.
