Obituary for Sandra (Conz) Monette
Sandra F. (Conz) Monette, 68, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home on February 16, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late William and Frances (Calatozzo) Conz, she was a 1958 graduate of Cathedral High School, a 1962 graduate of AIC with a Bachelor Degree in Arts, and graduated with a Masters of Education and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Westfield State College. She taught at Forest Park Junior High until 1970 and was then a 35 years educator in Ludlow, teaching English at both the High School and Middle School. Sandra was a faithful communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and enjoyed traveling with friends, but she especially treasured the cherished times that she spent with her grandchildren. Sandra was the beloved wife of the late Wallace Monette, who predeceased her in 2001; a loving mother to James Monette and his wife Nicole, and Laura Currie and her husband Timothy, all of Ludlow, a cherished grandmother of Tyler and Sarah Monette, and Amanda, Sydney and Michayla Currie; a dear sister to William A. Conz Jr., of Springfield, and the late James A. Conz, and sister-in-law to Patricia Conz, also of Springfield; and also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, dear friends and colleagues. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009 at 9am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church followed by burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 4-7pm and in lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Sandra’s memory to Baystate VNA and Hospice 50 Maple St. Springfield, Ma. Â
