Obituary for Shirley Ann Warren
Shirley Ann ‘Crane’ Warren, 86, died on Saturday, May 29, 2021, peacefully at home in Chicopee, surrounded by family. She was born June 19, 1934 to Emily and William Crane. She was married to Schley A, Warren Jr. on June 19, 1954, until his death on June 10, 2001. Her daughter Shannon A. Ferris also preceded her. She is survived by 3 sons, Schley A. Warren III and his wife Judy of South Hadley, Stewart A. Warren and his wife Elizabeth of Granby, Stephan A. Warren and his partner Tasha Majerowski of Belchertown, 2 daughters, Sherry A. Sullivan and her partner Robert B. Gray of Amherst, Samantha A. Siver of South Hadley, and her son-in-law Patrick J. Ferris of Belchertown. She was Nana to her 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Shirley was a devoted Army wife, during her husband’s 22 years in the military they spent time in Germany, Puerto Rico and relocated so much that all 6 children were born in different states, until they settled in Belchertown in 1972. She never lost her lust for travel. When she retired as a supervisor from Tambrands in Three Rivers, she packed up again and spent 12 more years traveling to every state in the U.S. Where they made lifelong friends, went to bluegrass festivals, played scavenger hunts, and enjoyed seeing this country. In 2001, she settled in Chicopee where her home became the central hub for her greatest joys spending time with friends and family, gathering for holidays, doing puzzles, playing games, vacationing, outdoor movie nights, or watching the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. She was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Ludlow where she enjoyed being a choir member and their Sunday brunches. She spent time with her friends from Chicopee High School where she graduated in 1951. She loved her hometown of Chicopee and in lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in her name to Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen where she had volunteered or to the Chicopee Senior Center. Funeral services for Shirley will be held on Monday June 7, 2021. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at St. Elizabeth Church, 191, Hubbard Street in Ludlow for a 9:00am Liturgy of Christian Mass, followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 11:00am. Visiting hours for Shirley will be held at the Ludlow Funeral Home on Sunday June 6, from 3:00pm-5:00pm, and they have been entrusted with Shirley’s arrangements .
