Obituary for Shirley M. (Butler) Stanuch
Shirley M. (Butler) Stanuch, 95, formerly of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2019, with her family by her side. Born in Ware, she lived in Ludlow for most of her life before moving to Maine, to be closer to her family. Shirley volunteered her time at the Ludlow Boys and Girls club teaching cooking and sewing and the Brownie and Girl scout troop where she was given the nickname “Jolly” for her pleasant and upbeat attitude. She worked for many years as a cafeteria worker for the Ludlow SchoolDept. and had a passion and joy for cooking, which she passed on to her family. Shirley was the widow of Walter Stanuch, and was predeceased by her 3 sisters, Rachel Paquette, Phyllis Minie and Jean Goodreau, and one brother Donald Butler. She leaves her children: Kathleen Stanuch-Oshirak of Newcastle Me. and David of Standish Me, 2 grandchildren, Cameron DavidStanuch and Mikhaila Stanuch. Funeral services will be held Friday morning May 24th, from the Ludlow Funeral Home, with visiting hours from 9:00- 10:45am followed by chapel services at 11:00am. Burial will be in Island Pond Cemetery, and donations in Shirley'smemory may be made to the Shriner's Hospital, Carew St. Springfield, Ma.
