Obituary for Sophie (Gondek) Cygan
Sophie (Gondek) Cygan, 94 of Brimfield MA died peacefully on Tuesday October 19, 2021. Born in Three Rivers Ma she was the daughter of the late Michael and Agnes Gondek. Sophie was a secretary for the Ludlow Public Schools prior to retirement.
She was a communicant of Christ the King Church and belonged to the St. Anne’s Sodality. She was the widow of Mitchell Cygan who died in 1995. Sophie is survived by her daughter Karen Pestaina and her husband Leslie of Brimfield, Ma . She was also the loving grandmother to Zachary, Alli, and Noah. Sophie is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Sophie will be held on Friday October 22 from Ludlow Funeral Home. Visitation is 8:00-9:15 am with a Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass celebrated at 10:00am at Christ the King Church in Ludlow followed by burial at St Aloysius Cemetery. For those who prefer donations in Sophie’s name they can be made to: Alzheimer’s Foundation or the American Heart Association.
