Obituary for Sophie (Lisiewicz) Dobek
Sophie A. (Lisiewicz) Dobek, 84, died April 11, 2013 at Palmer Healthcare Center. She was born in Belchertown on October 1, 1928 and lived in Ludlow a short time before returning to Belchertown and living there for several years. Sophie was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Zaklinska) Lisiewicz. She worked many years as a supervisor at the Belchertown State School before retiring in1992. Sophie was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward Dobek on October 2, 1992. Also a brother John Lisiewicz and three sisters, Helen Lisiewicz, Anne R. Bourassa and Rose Pawlin. She is survived by a brother Stanley J. Lisiewicz, sister Mildred Dexter, her cousin Walter Lewison and a brother-in-law Steve Pawlin as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. Sophie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and caregivers at the Palmer Health Care Center. A graveside service will be held for Sophie on Tuesday morning April 16th, 2013 at 9:00am in South Cemetery, Belchertown ,with Monsignor Homer Gosselin presiding, there are no calling hours and Ludlow Funeral Home has been entrusted with her arrangements.
