Obituary for Stanley F. Tenerowicz Sr.
Stanley F. Tenerowicz Sr., 93, of Shirley St. was called to Heaven on Tuesday, February 28, 2006. Born in Indian Orchard, he was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran serving his country honorably in the Atlantic and Pacific Theater during WWII. He was formerly employed at Williams Distributing, was a communicant of St. Cecelia’s Church and was a member of the Chicopee Lodge of Elks, the Polish Veterans Club of Wilbraham, and the Polish American Citizen’s Club. Stanley was an avid golfer and in the 1940’s and 50’s he was the best amateur golfer of his time. He was also a longtime member of the Ludlow Country Club and in 1929, at age 16, won the Club Championship. Stanley was the beloved husband of the late Bernice (Progulske) Tenerowicz, who predeceased him in 1997; a loving father to Stanley F. Tenerowicz Jr. and his wife Elaine, of Wilbraham; a dear brother to Bertha Elliott, of West Springfield, and also leaves several nieces, nephews, family members , friends and his care giver George Gyening. He was predeceased by his siblings; Victoria, Charles, Julia and Mitchell.  Funeral services are on Saturday morning at 9am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Cecelia’s Church followed by burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Visitation is on Friday from 4-7pm and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stanley’s memory to the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund in care of the William F. Connell Golf House and Museum 300 Arnold St. Norton, Ma. 02766.
