Obituary for Stanley J. Haluch
Stanley J. Haluch, 53, of Ludlow, took flight with the angels to tend to the Heavenly gardens in eternal peace with Jesus. A lifelong resident of Ludlow, he was the son of the late Edward and Helen (Sasur) Haluch and a communicant of Christ the King Church. Stanley worked for Howard Johnson’s while attending Ludlow High School until his graduation in 1971 and then proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force receiving his honorable discharge in 1974. He then worked for the Town of Ludlow, both for the Board of Public Works as heavy Equipment Operator, and for the Fire Dept. as a call firefighter. Stanley retired on November 11, 2005, after 31 years of outstanding dedication and hard work. The Ludlow Fire Dept. awarded him a plaque for his professional and dedicated service and was also given the special honor of receiving back his firefighter’s helmet. The board of Selectmen presented Stanley with a Certificate of Appreciation for his service to the community in various capacities and his significant contributions to town government. He accepted both these recognitions with honor and pride from of the members of Ludlow Fire Dept, Board of Selectmen and Board of Public Works. Stanley was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He gave us strength and made such a positive impact in our lives. We will always think of him with great respect and will be proud to have been a part of his life. He will be heartbreakingly missed by us, but will be remembered for all he has done for us and for his courageous battle with cancer. He will be forever in our dreams and eternally in our hearts. Stanley will also be remembered by all who knew him for the kindness and generosity that be bestowed upon everyone that he met. He always took the time to say “Hi” or to put aside what he was doing, even if it meant going out of his way, to help anyone in need; also for his love of farming, especially his cows; his huge gardens, and the years he planted the giant fields of corn which he shared with everyone. As the Board of Selectmen said: “It is a rare individual who undertakes a position and serve so long and faithfully”. Stanley, we will remember you for the pure goodness, dedication and hard work that you gave to us all in the town you were so proud to be a part of. He is survived by his wife Rose (O’Grady) Haluch; 4 stepchildren, Robert Scott and wife Diane of Ludlow, Angela McKenna and husband John, and Marcella Clark and husband Bruce, all of Springfield, and Bobbi Jean Labrie, of Ludlow; 9 grandchildren, whom Stan loved dearly, siblings Edward Haluch, Dorothy Will, both of Florida, Cathy Harrica of Ludlow, Stella Baccus of Palmer, and Carol Wilson of Chicopee and also leaves 9 nieces and nephews and 1 great niece and 1 great nephew. Funeral services will be on Friday morning at 9am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in Christ the King Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
