Obituary for Stanley "Stena" Wcislo
Stanley M. “Stena” Wcislo, 88, of Ludlow passed away Friday August 17, 2007 at the Holyoke Soldier’s Home. A lifelong resident of Ludlow, he was born March 18, 1919, the son of the late Martin and Mary (Chlastawa) Wcislo. Stanley proudly served his country during WWII with the US Army. He was a 42 year retired employee at Savage Arms Co. and belonged to the 25 year club. He was a communicant of Christ the King Church, and a member of the VFW Post 3236 of Ludlow. His interests included fishing, woodworking and gardening. He will be remembered by those who knew him for his sense of humor and mischievous smile. Stanley is survived by a sister, Helen Maciaga of East Longmeadow and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was also predeceased by a brother Joseph , a sister Victoria Kozyra and a long time dear friend Anne Kiminski. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 10:15 AM from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian burial in Christ the King Church at 11. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday morning only from 9:15-10:15 AM and donations may be made in his memory to the Holyoke Soldier’s Home 110 Cherry St. Holyoke, Ma. 01040.
