Stephanie “Stephie” Gay
“Little gram”, as she was known to all that loved her passed away peacefully on 3/4/25 at the age of 101, in her family home that she shared with her daughter Lil. Stephie moved back to Ludlow with her daughter Lil in 2003 from Florida after the passing of her husband in 2000. With Lil as her primary caretaker, Stephie was able to spend her last 21 years of her life in the home her husband built, and she raised her children in. Stephie is predeceased by her loving husband Frank Gay, and her 4 siblings, Walter, Tony, Josephine and Julie. Stephie leaves behind 2 daughters, Lillian Valley and Joan Pasteris and husband Leo, 3 grandchildren, Heather Valley and her husband Carlos, Marc Pasteris and his wife Jill, Darlene Collins and her late husband Eric Collins and 4 great grandchildren, Joey, Frankie, Cameron and Logan. Special mention to her 2 extra granddaughters, Heather’s 2 half-sisters, Alissa and Nikki Valley and their sons Mason and Issac with whom she had a very special bond. Stephie worked at Smith and Wesson as an inspector until she retired. Her favorite person was her great grandson, Joey Ramos with whom she shared her love of sports and anything that Joey was interested in. Stephie loved watching “her” Red Sox and Boston Bruins. She kept records on all of the Red Sox players stats for years in her little notebooks. She would spend many nights yelling at the TV on how they should be playing. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune and would often yell out the answers to the puzzles before the contestants solved them. She really enjoyed her many years spent bowling in leagues here and in Florida. Stephie enjoyed doing puzzles and playing solitaire as well, but the thing she liked to do the most of all was to go out to eat! She especially loved the old Bernie’s, Alexander’s and you could get her up in 2 seconds with the mention of a Friendly’s ice cream sundae.
Stephie will be loved and missed dearly by her family and friends. Services will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Agawam, MA on Wednesday March 19th, at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Stephie’s name to either Dakin Humane Society or Thomas J O’Connor Animal Control & Adoption Center.
