Obituary for Stephanie (Janeczek) Zolty
Mrs. Stephanie Zolty, 91, of Ludlow was called to heaven Thursday morning, with her loving daughters at her side. Born on July 11, 1920 to Peter and Victoria Janeczek, she grew up in Indian Orchard and was a talented singer and dancer at many Polish venues. She married Michael Zolty in 1946; they moved to Ludlow in 1950, where they made a happy home. Her love of and talent for excellent cooking and baking delighted all who were lucky to know her. Stephanie was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church. She retired from Smith and Wesson in 1985.  Her husband preceded her in death in 2003. She will be deeply missed by her three daughters: Nancy (her loving companion), Kathy (Gaylord) Burke, and Laurie (Sy) Sternberg; her beloved grandchildren: Michael Burke, Lauren (Brett) Buatti, Matthew Sternberg, Jodi (Tom) Keene, and Donna (Jay) O’Donnell; also, her precious great-grandchildren: Brett Jr and Kate Buatti, Heather and Shaun Howes, Matthew Keene, and Alec and Benjamin O’Donnell. She was also predeceased by her first granddaughter, Melanie Burke, as well as her two sisters and brother, Genevieve Janeczek, Mary Lafley, and Stephen Janeczek. The funeral will be Tuesday morning at 9am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with services in St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10am. Burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday from 4-7 p.m. only with a Panakhyda Service at 6:30 p.m.
