Obituary for Susie M. (Manoni) Conti
Our Mom Susie Conti left us on March 20th 2021 after 100 years and 78 days on this earth. She was an incredible lady. She was strong, courageous, loving, loyal and a privilege to know. She loved her husband Dino and stood by him always, they were a united front.
As a mother she was the best of the best. We were loved and we were loved well. All of us knew we could come to her for anything. As a grandmother she was perfection. Generous with love, hugs, advice and support. She was thrilled to be a great-grandmother and so loved that little girl.
Susie was an independent woman way before her time. She drove cars, trucks, vans; she always did what needed to be done, no matter what the task was if she could do it she did.
Can you imagine the life lived for 100 years, she lived through wars, depression, recession, virus and even lockdown. She lived a big life she had to endure loss, tragedy and heartache. She also had all the good things: family, friends, great joy, happiness and love.
Mom was born January 2, 1921 in Wilbraham, MA, the daughter of Sante and Anna Manoni. She lived most of her life in Ludlow and graduated from Ludlow High School. She worked for many years at Ludlow Manufacturing Co., after retiring from there she worked at Conti’s 202 for fun and a little extra spending money.
Susie was married to the late Dino Conti for 65 years, he predeceased her in 2006. She was also predeceased by her sons Dennis in 2020 and Ronald in 2007, her brother, all of her sisters, all her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-laws, a nephew, three nieces, and some wonderful friends, cousins and other family members.
To cherish her memory and keep her in our hearts, she leaves her daughters Christine and Sheila. Her grandson Jeff (Chrissy), granddaughters Dina (Ed), Andrea, Nicole and Alyssa. Her great granddaughter Isabella, nieces and nephews and her lifelong friend Louise and other family and friends who all loved her dearly.
In lieu of donations and flowers our mother was always doing something good, thoughtful, kind and generous for others and she always did her very best. Honor her by doing something for someone who needs your help and kindness, do it in your own name as our mom’s work is done. There will be no visiting hours per Susie’s wishes, and public graveside services for Susie will be announced for a later date in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
