Obituary for Sylvester Rogowski
Sylvester Rogowski, 64, of Ludlow was called home to be with God on Saturday, December 15, 2012. Born in Holyoke to the late Albert and Josephine (Popielarz) Rogowski, he was a graduate of Amherst Regional High School and has resided in Ludlow for the past 33 years. Sylvester was a faithful communicant of Christ the King Parish and a member of its Men’s Guild, he was a proud member of the Polish American Citizens Club and volunteered there during Bingo night. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning the distinguished Vietnam Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal. He worked for many years at B.F. Perkins, Standex Corporation in Chicopee and also for the Ludlow Senior Center in the transportation department. He enjoyed dancing and gardening but his true love in life was the time spent with his devoted family. He leaves his beloved wife of 33 years Carolyn (Siana) Rogowski of Ludlow; loving children Brian Rogowski and Sandy Rogowski of Ludlow and Lisa Monson and her husband Scott of Agawam; cherished grandson Tyler Monson; caring brothers Daniel Rogowski of Feeding Hills and Lawrence Rogowski of Chesterfield and sisters Victoria Palmer of Granby and Virginia Harackiewicz of Ludlow; his mother in law Barbara Siana and his brother-in-law Andrew Siana and his wife Susan as well as many caring nieces and nephews throughout the community. Funeral services for Sylvester will be held on Wednesday December 19, 2012 at 8:30am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated in Christ the King Church at 9:30am followed by burial with Military Honors in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Visiting hours are Tuesday afternoon from 3:00-7:00pm. It was the wish of Sylvester’s family that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to: Holyoke Soldiers Home, 110 Cherry St. Holyoke, MA. 01040 or to: Christ the King Parish, Warsaw Ave, Ludlow, MA. 01056.
