Obituary for Teresa (Afonso) Dias
Teresa (Afonso) Dias, 91, of Ludlow, died on February 26, 2013. Born in Portugal, she was a longtime resident of Ludlow where she was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Teresa loved to sew and crochet, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored and cared for. Teresa was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Antonio Dias, who predeceased her in 2002. She was the loving mother of Manuel Dias and Emilia Dias of Portugal, Domingos Dias, Ines Rosa, Arminda Aguilar, and Rosa Gomes all of Ludlow, Ana Dobson of Monson, Joao Dias of New Hampshire, and the late Maria and Bia Dias. She also was a cherished grandmother of 17 and great-grandmother of 11, and she leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends both here and in Portugal. Funeral services are on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Friday from 4:00-7:00pm.
