Obituary for Teresa S. Monteiro
Teresa S. Monteiro, 93, of Ludlow, died peacefully Sunday August 17, 2008, with her loving family at her side. A lifelong resident of Ludlow, she worked for over 30 years at the Ludlow Textile Mills. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, a member of their Sacred Heart of Jesus Society, as well as belonging to the Gremio Lusitano Women’s Auxiliary. Teresa was the widow of Antonio Monteiro, who died in 1966, and was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Gracinda (Fontes) Natario and her siblings, Joao Fontes, Anna Tribanas and Conceicao Dias. She leaves her devoted children; Antonio Monteiro and his wife Dolores of Indian Orchard and Luisa Monteiro of Ludlow, her caring step children; Armand Monteiro and his wife Simone, Mary Coelho and her husband Manuel “Moon”, and Zora Gonsalves, all of Ludlow, 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 9:15 from the Ludlow Funeral Home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Church at 10. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
