Obituary for Thomas L. Starbard, Sr.
Thomas L. Starbard Sr., 80, of Ludlow, died peacefully on December 31, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Worcester, son of the late Albert and Della (Herbert) Starbard, he was a longtime Ludlow resident and a United States Army Veteran proudly serving his country during the Korean War. Thomas worked for many years at Springfield Armory and Liberty Liquors Distributors before his retirement. He was also a faithful and active communicant of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Church, where he served as an usher for many years, and was presently a communicant of the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth. Thomas was the beloved husband of 54 years to Elizabeth (Tredo) Starbard; a loving father to Thomas Starbard Jr. and wife Darlene, of Palmer, and Dawn Veautour, of Ludlow; a dear brother to Richard Starbard and wife Linda, of ME, and the late Dorothy Donnellan and Ruth Stroup; a cherished grandfather to Nathan and wife Michelle, Jillian, Sarah, and Matthew; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 4, 2012 at 9:30am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30am in St. Elizabeth Parish followed by burial with Military Honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00
