Obituary for Thomas "Tommy" Mack
Thomas M. Mack, 61, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice (LeBlanc) Mack and has lived in Ludlow for many years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving his country honorably during the Korean Conflict and was a Petty Officer from 1966-1968. Tommy previously worked for Rotmans, Artistic Floors, and Belmont Carpet before opening his own business Tommy Mack’s Carpetland in Ludlow and later in Springfield. He was an avid deep sea fisherman, loved flowers and floral arranging, and loved to take pictures, especially of his family. Tommy was the beloved husband of the late Doris Ann (DeChristopher) Mack, who predeceased him in 2005; a loving father and grandfather to his son Neil Mack and his wife Jennifer, and their children Michelle and Joshua Mack, all of Holland, Ma.; caring step-father to Jason D. McCormick; a dear brother to Robert Mack and his wife Minnie, of Springfield, and the late Charles , Joseph, Roger and Alice Mack; and also leaves several nieces and nephews including Danny and Robert Mack, as well as many relatives and friends; including his faculty and friends at Carpetland. Funeral services will be on Wednesday morning at 9am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in Christ the King Church followed by burial with military honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Tuesday evening from 5-8pm and in memory of Tommy, the family has requested that floral arrangements be sent for the services.Â
