Obituary for Timothy M. Collins
Timothy M. Collins, 95, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2017 at the Massachusetts Soldier’s Home in Holyoke surrounded by his loving family. Born in North Brookfield, son of the late Timothy and Ellen (Barry) Collins, he was a 1940 graduate of Warren High School and a 1947 graduate of Becker College in Worcester. He enlisted in the US Army in 1942 and proudly served his country in the 10th Armored Division during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star. Tim was a retired professional executive for the Boy Scouts of America serving over 20 years in the former Pioneer Valley Council. He was a communicant of St. Cecelia Parish in Wilbraham. Tim was a longtime member of both the American Legion and the Rotary Club. He was a 30-year resident of Ludlow and served on the Election and Library Boards. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 66 years, Mary (Flynn) Collins in 2016 and his brother Richard in 1980. Tim was a loving father to Timothy Collins of Falls Church VA and Terry Collins, and his wife Anne, of Clifton VA, a devoted grandfather to Patrick Collins of Clifton VA and Meghan Collins of Houston TX, and a cherished uncle to Patricia Charbonneau of Ludlow. Visiting hours for Tim are on Thursday, October 12th from 6:00-8:00pm at the Ludlow Funeral Home. Family and friends are asked to gather for a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Friday October 13th at 9:00am directly at Christ the King Church in Ludlow followed by committal services at 11:00am at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
