Obituary for Valentine "Val" Evangelista
Valentine “Val” Evangelista, 78, of Ludlow was called home to be with God on Sunday, February 3, 2008. Born in Ludlow to the late Antonio and Joaquina (Gil) Evangelista, he was a life long Ludlow resident, a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and worked for several years at Frank’s Diner where he made many friends. He leaves his beloved wife of 56 years; Grace (Jorge) Evangelista of Ludlow; loving son Gary Evangelista of Ludlow; cherished grandchildren Gary Evangelista Jr. of Ludlow and Sara Evangelista of San Diego, California, and his caring sisters Justina Neto of Ludlow and Aline Ribeiro of Florida. Val was predeceased by his brothers Charlie, Joseph and Frank as well as his sisters Ermina and Mary. Funeral services will be held on Thursday Morning February 7th, 2008 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday evening from 4-7pm and in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Val’s memory to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation 710 168th St. New York, NY. 10032 or Our Lady of Fatima Parish Fund, Winsor St. Ludlow, MA. 01056.
